Description

Victor Buyck Steel Construction was responsible for the fabrication, transport and installation of the South Bridge, which connects the banks of the Brussels-Charleroi Canal to the heart of Halle. This arch bridge will be the new automotive link between René Deboecklaan, Suikerkaai on the one hand and Vogelpers, Sint-Rochusstraat on the other.

The special feature is that the site is not accessible by water in large parts. The main beams were therefore divided into 4 parts each and transported to the site. The arch parts and cross beams were also transported by road to the pre-assembly area.

In the pre-assembly area near the final site, the entire bridge was welded together and the suspensions were installed.

The bridge was then transported by ship to its final location.
