Projectmanagement

VBSC has a strong team of project leaders. Their experience is distributed across 5 continents around the world and covers steel construction of all types and levels of complexity.

Our project leadership, which is at our clients' service when carrying out their challenging projects, has all the expertise available at VBSC.

Engineering

Victor Buyck has been completely dedicated to the development and expansion of its own engineering division for years.

We can guide clients, architects, designers and contractors through the preliminary sketch and rough drafting phases. We also take care of the workshop and erection drawings. Our engineers use the very latest calculation, planning and drawing software, including SCIA and TEKLA.

The workstations are equipped with CAD/CAM and thereby directly linked to the computers in the manufacturing division. Our engineers are also in touch with the clients via an interchange.

Manufacturing

Our site in Eeklo covers 109,000m², 38,000m² of which consists of covered production halls. At the Ghent-Wondelgem site, we have a further 21,000m² of covered production space on a site of 111,000m². The lifting capacity in Eeklo is 80 tons and in Ghent 150 tons.

In Ghent, we also have a direct connection to the North Sea via the Ghent-Terneuzen channel and the Ringvaart.

Using self-propelled platform trucks, we can load extremely heavy steel structures of up to 1,500 tons onto pontoons or ships. This reduces the total production cost considerably.

With a total production capacity of 30,000 tons per year, VBSC is the largest steel constructor in Belgium and one of the largest in Europe.

Coating

All our production units have automatic shot-blasting machines and spray-painting halls for conserving steel.

The temperature-controlled painting workshops are fully integrated into the manufacturing process. Painting takes place using spray guns with low air consumption.

We apply both rust-resistant and fire-resistant coatings. More innovative applications, such as metallisation and aluminisation, are not a problem for VBSC either.

Our painters and inspectors are fully ACQPA qualified.

Assembly

Victor Buyck possesses a unique knowledge centre in the field of high-rise construction and bridges.

We specialise in the off-site assembly of large steel structures with modular systems and concepts. This leads to highly efficient on-site assembly.

The transport and assembly technologies we apply for large and heavy elements are the key to our projects' success. The assembly is largely carried out by our own engineers, led and supervised by our site managers.
