Description
Victor Buyck will construct a new footbridge across Middle Dock in Canary Wharf, London. The bridge features a central spine beam with variable height and cantilevered transversal girders. The spine beam doubles as bench seating. The balustrade and timber deck will be delivered and installed by others. The bridge is supported on two piled foundations within the dock. The total length of the bridge is 56 meters, and it will be delivered in pieces (each approximately 28 meters long and 5.2 meters wide) without the columns. The assembly and welding of the two bridge elements and the columns will take place on a preassembly platform next to Newfoundland. Finally, the bridge will be moved to its final location using SPMTs and barges.
