Waterford Sustainable Transport Bridge

Description
This new 5-span 8m wide bridge will connect the north and the south quays in the Waterford City centre and will accommodate pedestrians, cyclists and an electric shuttle bus. An opening span will accommodate river traffic. The new 207m crossing is a key element of Waterford City & County Council’s urban regeneration project which will extend Waterford City Centre across the River Suir to encompass the North Quays Strategic Development Zone.
BAM Civil (Ireland) is Main Contractor for the civil works. Victor Buyck will manufacture, deliver, and erect the steel structure of the bridge (983 T), Qualter Hall is responsible for MEICA scope.
The bridge will be transported in four large segments of to the site on barges and will be installed with a floating sheerleg.
