Description
The old existing railway bridge over the Sambre in Thuin (Charleroi) is being replaced by a new single-track railway bridge.
The new bridge is a straight box girder with a changing height. Victor Buyck fabricates the bridge in four parts in the workshops in Eeklo.
On site, the four parts are welded together to form a single whole and a concrete deck is laid on them. After demolishing the old bridge and renewing the abutments, the new bridge is transported on SPMTs to its final position. The bridge is lifted with a large crawler crane.
