Description
As part of an ambitious urban renewal project, Victor Buyck Steel Construction is fabricating and installing the new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the River Wear in Sunderland.
The new bridge, with a length of 250m, will be fabricated in four sections in the workshop. The cross-section of the bridge consists of an open, trapezoidal tube of variable height on which a concrete deck will be poured.
The New Wear Footbridge will play an important role in creating a smooth and safe connection for pedestrian traffic from the city centre to the 'Stadium of Light' of home team Sunderland AFC.
