Description
Victor Buyck Steel Construction fabricates and installs the steelwork of the two bascule bridge sections of the new road bridge over the River Yare. The main contractor is BAM Farrans JV, the client is Norfolk County Council. The bridge parts are finished in the workshop and transported as a whole and installed on site. The counterbalanced ballast chambers are located under the road surface.
We expect the new bridge to make a big difference to Great Yarmouth, reducing traffic congestion, making it easier and quicker for people to get around, and improving access from the port and enterprise zone to the A47.
