Description
HS2 is a new high-speed line currently under construction and will run between London and Birmingham. In this context, Victor Buyck has been commissioned to manufacture, supply and install the new railway bridge over the M6 in Birmingham.
The bridge consists of a total of 2 viaducts (East Viaduct & West Viaduct), which in turn each consist of 2 closed caisson girders of 315m long, 4.8m high and 3.3m wide. The structure is made entirely of weathering steel.
The bridge is brought to the site in various segments by ferry and truck (exceptional transport), where it is assembled and launched in various phases depending on the available assembly area.
