The steel construction of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam was achieved at record speed by the combination of steel builders Victor Buyck and Hollandia (VBH). The building has 20 floors and weighs 4200 tonnes, the steel beams are manufactured and assembled by VBH after applying the intumescent paint. The metal decking that serves as reinforcement and permanent formwork for the concrete floors has also been supplied and assembled by VBH. The building was assembled at a record pace, with the start in November 2018 and the end in July 2019.
