Milestone Achieved: Victor Buyck Steel Construction Begins Fabrication for Water Orton No. 1 Viaduct Straddle Bents
Eeklo, Belgium - We're excited to share a significant milestone in the High Speed 2 project: Victor Buyck Steel Construction has commenced the fabrication of the Water Orton No. 1 Viaduct Straddle Bents at our workshop in Eeklo.
Over the next few months, our fitters and welders will assembly these box sections in a total of 6 segments that can be transported to site in Birmingham. We are very proud to contribute to such an important infrastructure project.
The Water Orton Viaducts, located east of the M42 and Lichfield Road, will be made up of two concrete viaducts that will hold 700 metres of new HS2 track over the River Tame and a network of existing transport links, including the Birmingham-Peterborough line, running between Water Orton and Coleshill Parkway Stations.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make strides on the High Speed 2 project!
