Description

HS2 is a new high-speed railway line currently under construction that will run between London and Birmingham. As part of this, Victor Buyck has been awarded the contract to manufacture, supply and assemble the steel structure for the new Diddington Lane Overbridge. This road bridge will carry car traffic over the new HS2 train line.

The bridge consists of 2 braced pairs of 81 metres long, which will be transported to the site in a total of 6 pre-assembled pieces. The bridge is curved in plan, but the steel structure is constructed from straight pieces. The curvature is therefore absorbed by means of kinks at the joints.

As with the other structures for HS2, this bridge will also be constructed entirely of weathering steel.
