Renovation of Vierendeel bridges in Mechelen

JV Strukton Rail - Victor Buyck Steel Construction is carrying out the renovation of the Vierendeel bridges in Mechelen. The assignment is part of the "Masterplan Mechelen" from Infrabel. This assignment includes the renovation and adaptation of the rail infrastructure, whereby two classical bridges are also being renovated. Among other things, we manufacture a new steel bridge deck with direct rail attachment and replaceable steel parts of the bridges, such as handrails, button plates and rivets. We are also building a temporary cable bridge across the canal.

The bridges are located next to the KW06 bridge that was installed by Victor Buyck in 2017.
